PEOPLE WHO....

The aim of this activity is to complete sentences and also take advantage of the contributions in order to generate debate and interaction.

How: Just hand out the following sheet with the heading

PEOPLE WHO.....

and tell students they have to complete the sentences with realism, not just adding a grammatically correct ending

1. ...park their cars on the footpath.......
2. ...who don't pay taxes....
3. ...who throw garbage on the floor...
4. ... who give money to charities...
5. ... eat pop corn loudly at the movies ....
6. ... who drink and drive...
7. ... who travel a lot ....
8. ... who save lot of money....
9. ...watch TV all day....
10. ... go to the opera....
11. ... eat frog's legs...
12. ... climb the Everest....
13. ... hunt whales....
14. ... eat too much.....
15. ... drive too fast....
16. ... jump queues....
17. ... whistle at girls ....
18. ... smoke in public places...
19. ... earn a lot of money...
20. ... throw their old cooker into a field....
21. ... snore...

etc..... (add more)...

NB. The idea is to get personal endings... For example, for..

"People who eat pop corn loudly at the movies..."
I got:
annoy me
should eat them before the show
make a  lot of noise
have the right to do so!!!

As you can see, everybody has a different answer and opinion. The latter is what generates the talk.

Sou you kill two birds with one stone. You practice grammar and you get students talking.

I hope you and your students enjoy this activity.
