This is a
great activity for students who can’t sit still.
It will
give them a great opportunity to move around!
You need: A
set of cards Play to Learn – “Simple Present – Do – Does”
Some Styrofoam balls
From the
set of cards “Simple Present” you select only the verbs (orange cards) and put
them on a place not so close to the students, a place where they have to stand
up and move to get them, maybe the teachers desk is a good option.
On another
desk, far from where you have put the cards you are going to put the Styrofoam balls
with the with questions written on them (WHAT, WHERE, WHO, WHEN, HOW, ETC)
When the teacher
gives the signal to start, the students have to get one card, one ball, go to their
desks and write a question using the two words.
If he
picked the verb LEARN and the WH-word WHAT, he can, write the question –
What do you
learn?
The teacher
can set a time limit for the Game.
At the end
of the time set by the teacher, she corrects the questions and the winner is
the student who could write more sentences that are correct!
If the
teacher wants to continue with the activity, she can ask the students to sit in
pairs and ask each other the questions they have written and write down the
answers.
After all
the class has finished asking questions the teacher can ask the students to
tell the class two new things they have learned about their partner.
I hope you
and your students enjoy doing this activity and learning English with the Games
– PLAY TO LEARN!!!!
